Webbers Falls man pleads guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that a Webbers Falls man pleaded guilty to one count of possession of certain material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.
Charges against Thomas Edward Gailus, 51, arose after a probe by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to reports, Gailus knowingly accessed and possessed visual depictions from the internet of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct between April 2018 and March 2023, and he accessed the images intending to view them.
Honorable Judge D. Edward Snow accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. Gailus will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending sentencing.
Assistant United States Attorneys Jessie Pippin and Dak Cohen and U.S. Department of Justice Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section Trial Attorney Gwendelynn Bills prosecuted the case.
