Tahlequah woman pleads guilty to federal firearm crime

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that a Tahlequah woman pleaded guilty to one count of felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
On June 12, 2024, Laura Gema Carroll, 36, knowingly possessed a .380ACP caliber, semi-automatic pistol, and five rounds of .380ACP caliber ammunition, after having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.
Charges against Carroll arose after a probe by the Tahlequah Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Honorable Judge D. Edward Snow accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
Assistant United States Attorneys Rachel Geizura and T. Cameron McEwen prosecuted the case.
