Sex offender to appear in court after not registering
A Wagoner man is slated to appear in court after he pleaded not guilty to failing to register as a sex offender.
According to court reports, Olajuwan Abdul Miles pleaded no contest to first-degree rape charges in 2015 and was given a suspended six-year sentence. Miles was required to register as a sex offender and he failed to do so.
In 2019, Miles pleaded guilty to interference with emergency telephone call, malicious injury to property, and threaten to perform act of violence. The charges of failure to register as a sex offender and domestic assault and battery were dismissed.
He received a 2.5-year suspended sentence for the three charges.
On April 13, 2023, Miles was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and he pleaded not guilty on April 27.
Miles is slated to appear in court for the felony disposition docket on May 24.
