Student arrested after gun, drugs found on Okay school property

The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office said a 19-year-old student was arrested Thursday morning after a firearm and narcotics were brought on to school property.


On Sept. 12, deputies with the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Okay High School in reference to reports of a possible weapons violation at the school.


"It was reported that school administrators were notified that a male subject at the school was in possession of a firearm and possible narcotics. When school officials searched his property, they discovered weapons and possible narcotics," the WCSO stated in a Facebook post.


Deputy A. Hull made contact with school officials and immediately took Steven Arney into custody without incident.


Arney was transported to the Wagoner County Detention Center and booked for possess weapon on school property, possession of a controlled dangerous substance on school property, possession of paraphernalia, and person under 21 in possession of handgun. He is held with no bond.
