OHP: Teens injured in single-vehicle crash
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said two teenagers were injured after a single-vehicle crash in Mayes County late Wednesday morning.
According to reports, a 16-year-old female was driving a 2018 Hyundai Elantra northbound on U.S. Highway 69, two miles north of Pryor, when she attempted to pass a semi truck that veered into her lane of traffic. The vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree. The teen was transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa and admitted in stable condition with head and leg injuries.
A 15-year-old male passenger was also transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa and admitted in stable condition with head injuries.
According to the OHP, the condition of the driver was apparently normal and the cause of the crash is under investigation. Both teenagers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
