Cherokee County Republican Women to meet Nov. 19

The Cherokee County Republican Women will meet on Tuesday, Nov 19, at the Armory Municipal Center in Tahlequah.

The board will meet at 9 a.m. and the club will meet at 10 a.m. The club will be discussing their Christmas Project for Cherokee County Veterans who have no families that live in Cherokee County nursing Homes. Members can pay their 2025 dues at the meeting.

The program will begin at 11 a.m. and will have former Cherokee Nation Tribal Councilor for District 3 Wes Nofire, who is the Native American Liaison for Oklahoma.

The Cherokee County Republican Women empower women from all backgrounds in the political process and provides a forum for women to serve as leaders in political, governmental, and civic arenas. They support all Republican candidates in the primary process and also invite candidates in non-partisan races to speak.

Their goal is to be informed voters. If anyone has any questions about the Republican Women's Club or if they are a Republican candidate and want to come speak to the club, they can call CCRW President, Diane Timmons, at 214-808-2639.

The next CCRW meeting will be the annual Christmas Luncheon on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the Armory. The new CCRW officers for 2025 will be sworn-in at the Christmas Luncheon. Details will be announced during the Nov. 19, 2024, meeting.

Cherokee County Republican Women regularly meet every third Tuesday of the month at the Municipal Armory. The club meets at 10 a.m. and the program begins at 11 a.m. If anyone is interested, they are asked to come to the meeting. They welcome guests, women and men.

The first CCRW meeting of the new year will be on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025. Another Republican group, the Cherokee County Republican Party usually meets the second Monday each month in the Armory at 6:30 p.m. The CCRP meeting on Monday, Dec. 9, will be an informal “meet-and-greet” with Republican elected officials.

CCRP members are asked to bring unwrapped toys and stuffed animals to give to Toys for Tots and Help in Crisis. The club will be serving light snacks and hot chocolate. The first CCRP meeting in the new year will be on Jan. 13, 2025, at the Armory at 6:30 p.m.

All registered Republicans in Cherokee County are invited to attend. If anyone has any questions about the club, contact Cherokee County Republican Chair, Carol Sneed-Jalbert, at 417-847-7427.
