BREAKING: Thursday morning shooting under investigation

Cherokee Nation Marshals and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a shooting that occurred early Thursday, March 30, on Collins Road.

According to a Cherokee Nation spokesperson, a man is in custody and another man was killed.

"Cherokee Nation Marshals are notifying family and not releasing further information at this time," the CN spokesperson said.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jason Chennault said deputies arrived as first responders and held the scene until Cherokee Nation Marshal Service arrived.
